The aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air. A comforting scent that always signaled the start of a new day. I am so blessed to be home and have that old Revere Pot remind me about the warmth of my wife's presence.
My boo came out of the Christmas Holidays and quickly converted our home with themes of Valentines Day. This was new to me. Such excitement for celebrating our partnership was a reminder that our love is a gentle, steady burn, a comfortable warmth. We share everything – joys and sorrows, triumphs and failures. We are each other's confidantes, best friends, and lovers. And thanks to our love, Valentines Day this year is so different as it serves as a reminder of what we already know, and that is that we truly have a special love for each other.
Sometimes, there are misconceptions about marriage. Marriage, for us wasn't about escaping loneliness or filling a void. It was a natural progression, a formalization of a bond that always existed. We cherish our time together. Our love is not as a respite from the world, but as an extension of our shared selves.
When you truly love someone days melt into weeks, weeks into months, and many years of happiness are on the horizon as we grow old together. We explore the world together, hand in hand. We what build a life, a home filled with laughter, the scent of coffee, and the comforting weight of shared memories.
For me, every day was Valentine's Day, a constant reminder of the profound love we share, a love that was brought to me unexpectedly. A love that is a daily reminder that people can find the happiness they deserve.
